Washington, DC – Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) announced today that Hopatcong Borough received a $89,837.54 grant from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development to repair and rehabilitate housing in the borough. The Housing Preservation Grant will support households with health and safety hazards and improve access for persons with disabilities.

Washington, DC -- Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) will hold her next town hall meeting on Monday, November 25th, at the Hanover Township Community Center in Whippany. Representative Sherrill held her first town hall meeting in January 2019, and since then has held public meetings in every county in the 11th District.

Landing, NJ -- Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) met yesterday with Governor Murphy and state and local officials to discuss harmful algal blooms (HABs) at Lake Hopatcong and the Governor’s proposal to invest $13.5 million statewide through an enhanced program of science-based prevention, mitigation, study, and response. The HAB at Lake Hopatcong this summer resulted in a recreational advisory which impacted residents and businesses surrounding the lake. Lake Hopatcong is the largest lake in New Jersey.

Washington, DC -- Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) voted today to reauthorize the Export-Import (Ex-Im) Bank for ten years. The Ex-Im Bank supports American workers by financing the export of American-made goods from companies nationwide, including businesses in Essex, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex Counties.

At this morning’s Freshmen Working Group on Addiction meeting, Carmine V. Deo, Executive Director of Community Hope, Inc., and Geri K. Moss, Clinician with the True North Program for Veterans, spoke about the provider’s perspective of veterans and addiction, and shared potential ideas for policy initiatives.
