Washington, DC -- Today, Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) participated in the Pentagon’s September 11th Observance and released the following statement on the 18th anniversary of the 2001 attacks: “For eighteen years, we’ve celebrated and mourned the members of our community we lost in 2001, and the bravery of the first responders who ran towards the burning buildings in Lower Manhattan, the Pentagon, and Shanksville — into immeasurable and unknown danger.

The Congressional App Challenge is designed to engage student creativity and encourage their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education fields. The competition is open to middle school and high school students who live or attend school in NJ-11.

Washington, DC -- Yesterday, House Science, Space, and Technology Investigations & Oversight Subcommittee Chairwoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) held a hearing on election security and the urgent voter system vulnerabilities across the United States ahead of the 2020 election cycle. During the hearing, the committee explored policy strategies for protecting the various technologies associated with election systems. The committee also highlighted election security best practices and encouraged state election commissions and commercial vendors voluntarily to adopt these guidelines.

Montclair, NJ – Whippany Park High School Senior Tafari Dempster won first place in Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill’s first annual Congressional Art Competition. Tafari’s self-portrait “Euphoria” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the coming year alongside more than 430 other winning works from every congressional district in the country.
