Sherrill Statement on Senate Passage of Washington Republicans’ Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, DC — Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) released the following statement after Senate passage of the extreme Republican continuing resolution:

“Republican politicians have abandoned their oaths to the Constitution and bent the knee to Trump and Musk. It is deeply upsetting that some Senate Democrats failed to protect the American people and fight for the future of our country. This moment demands bold leadership, and it’s time for Democrats to step up.

“I voted NO on Republicans’ continuing resolution earlier this week because it jeopardizes access to important programs, like veterans’ health care and disaster relief, while allowing Musk and Trump to turn a profit using New Jersey’s hard-earned tax dollars.

“I believe deeply in the promise of this country — that the American dream should be within reach for all, not just the wealthy and well-connected. And I vow to continue to stand in the breach to protect New Jersey families and the American people.”
