Sherrill Statement on National Security Supplemental

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on the urgent need to pass national security supplemental funding: 

“The Senate negotiated a bipartisan compromise on national security legislation that will support our democratic allies in Israel, Ukraine, and the Asia-Pacific – and significantly invest in security at our Southern Border. These are priorities with which the vast majority of Americans agree.

“But now, after months of demanding border legislation, MAGA extremists are doing Trump’s bidding to tank the bill so he can use immigration as a campaign issue. It’s shocking to see such a naked display of partisan politics given the tough issues we face.

“We need leaders who can solve tough problems and I applaud the Senate negotiators for their months of hard work.”
