New Jersey Conference of Mayors Awards Sherrill U.S. Representative of the Year

ATLANTIC CITY – Yesterday evening in Atlantic City, the New Jersey Conference of Mayors (NJCM) Awarded Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) as the U.S. Representative of the Year. Sherrill also swore in Madison Mayor Bob Conley as the new President of NJCM. 

“I am pleased to have awarded my good friend, Congresswoman Sherrill with the New Jersey Conference of Mayors U.S. Representative of the Year award. She has consistently demonstrated the critical needs of New Jersey. Through her tireless efforts, she has successfully secured essential funds, services, and resources to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our state. We know that New Jersey does a great job of supporting the United States, with not nearly as much coming back, but thanks to the work of Congresswoman Sherrill, she is working to bring that money back to our communities. Mayors, whether Democrat or Republican, that are fortunate enough to be in NJ-11, are aware that reaching out to anyone in her office ensures that constituent issues, as well as local, county, state-wide, or federal matters, are consistently addressed with professionalism, attention to detail, and timeliness,” said Robert H. That’s why I’m so honored to receive this award from NJCM and look forward to our continued partnership  to make New Jersey a better and more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Rep. Mikie Sherrill. 

Sherrill was previously ranked as the most effective lawmaker in the New Jersey House Delegation by the Center for Effective Lawmaking. This year, she brought back nearly $16 million in federal Community Project Funding to replace lead service lines, combat auto thefts, mitigate flooding, preserve Drew Forest, and more. Sherrill, a Navy veteran, is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party.
